I never understood why some women would throw themselves at men who had long shaggy hair, tight jeans and were musicians. They didn't even have to be that good looking at all. It wasn't until I was 16 at a 311 concert, and watching sexy lead singer Nick Hexum strum the electric guitar with his tight, strong arms, while closing his eyes and pouring everything into that microphone, sharing his world, his thoughts, his deeply penned lyrics for all of us to hear. How magical it was, the power, the energy, the music and as corny as it sounds I wanted to fuck him right then and there...(what is statutory rape anyway?) I finally understood what the term "groupie" meant. I felt as though he was talking to me specifically, the lyrics he was singing were about me. My own private concert.
What is about these men with guitars that drive me or most women in general crazy? Is it their good looks, or the amazing music they make? I think its a combination of both, with music being the forefront. Where have they gone? Why are there no more Jimmie's or Kurt's, or Keith's around? Why does the music nowadays not feel as organic and raw as before? Maybe I'm just listening to the wrong things... well at least I'll have always have the memories.

It must be because these men seem to be special and creative and not just like the ordinary people that run around. I am not so much into long hair but today there are many hot musicians with shorter hair. :D

i was OBSESSED with van halen when i was a kid. the original line-up in the 70's was really amazing. i was just a kid, but i was enthralled with them. every night i would pretend i was going to bed with one of the dudes. i would switch off each night, because i was fair (or slutty?) like that. i would get david lee roth one night, and eddie van halen the other night. THIS WAS ALL PRETEND, but i had it bad for them. my room had posters EVERYWHERE!
MIND YOU, this was when they were hot, not the gross dudes that they are today!
I was just telling my mom yesterday that my groupie tendencies still live on , and strong. I guess they have just simmered down. I no longer hop on tour buses or date any dude that has long hair and in a band. But there is just something about a man on stage, with an instrument that is a total throb in the pants.
Main stream music , I have no idea what the fuck is played now.
But I still get hot watching Sebastian Bach whipping his hair around in the video 'Monkey Business' and want to rip off my clothes when Axl sings 'Dont Cry'
I dreamed of being the girl from 'Rock the cradle of love' video.
Oh the things I use to do. Funny thing is, I just finished reading Pamela Des Barres book, 'Im with the band' Oh man, that was a fun and very steamy read!

There is something to be said about groupie love. I have never been a groupie, but I have had friends who were, and they were INSANE. They really make a band feel loved -- or freaked out, depending on how insane the girls actually are.

Yes, the "rock stars" of today are far too coiffed, shaved, tanned, and styled to come close in raw sex appeal, I'm afraid. There's nothing sexy about a man who's been in the grubby hands of a stylist and hair colorist. Ew.
